Adventure Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver – Cost £250

What is it?

The PADI Adventures in Diving Programme is for divers who have mastered the basic skills and who want to develop new skills, see different creatures and have new experiences and adventures underwater. You can choose to undertake single Adventure dives from a long list available to you, or you can string three together to qualify as an Adventure Diver, or five to earn the Advanced Open Water Diver certification. Each Adventure dive may count as the first dive for the related Specialty Course. Once you successfully complete the Advanced Open Water course you will be certified to dive to a maximum depth of 30 m for those over 15 years, 21 m for those 12 – 4 years and 12 m for those 10 – 11 years of age.

Can anyone do it? Are there any pre-requisites?

You must be at least an Open Water Diver or have an equivalent qualifying certification from another training organisation. If you are at least 10 years of age you can undertake the following Adventure dives:
Altitude, AWARE – fish identification, Boat, Digital Underwater Photography, Dry Suit, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Underwater Naturalist, Underwater Navigation, Underwater Photography and Underwater Videography. If you are over 12 years you can do all Adventure Dives except Enriched Air Adventure Dive for which you must be over 15 years of age.

What does the course entail?

You will select from the list of Adventure Dives (three for Adventure Diver and five for Advanced Open Water Diver), read the related chapter in the PADI Adventures in Diving manual or multimedia, complete the related knowledge review and undertake on open water dive for each Adventure Dive. For the Advanced Open Water certification you must undertake the Deep Dive and the Underwater Navigation Dive.
